Biography
Bulent Celebi founded his first company, involving industrial networking, while attending UC Berkeley for an EE/CS degree. While working for large semiconductor companies in Silicon Valley for decades, he drove various innovations to the market.
During his tenure as CEO at Ubicom, a venture-backed semiconductor firm, he released the world’s first chip enabling Internet connectivity for any electronic device.
In 2002 he was selected as a “Top 10 innovator” by Red Herring, a prestigious tech business magazine.
Following his Silicon Valley chip experience, Bulent then founded AirTies in Istanbul in 2004, with the vision of providing holistic hardware/software solutions that wirelessly connect all devices in the home seamlessly over a Wi-Fi network. Since that time, he has evangelized the worldwide market adoption of mesh networking and whole home Wi-Fi, allowing HD-video streaming connectivity at every corner of the home.
Today AirTies is the technology and market leader in Wi-Fi Mesh, with a large portfolio of US & EU patents. AirTies customers are the market leading service providers in the US and WEU such as AT&T, Sky (UK, Germany, and Italy), CableVision US, SingTel and Deutsche Telecom. This performance resulted in the selection of AirTies by Red Herring as a Global Top 100 innovator for 2016 & 2017.
Bulent’s domain expertise includes Wireless & Wi-Fi, OTT, IoT, Semiconductors and Telecommunications. He is skilled in all aspects of driving a start up from idea to $100M. Specific areas of expertise include: Product/Market Fit, Strategy & Business Model, Technology & Market Vision; Technology Development, IP Strategy, International Business Development and Fundraising.
Bulent is now particularly active in the entrepreneurship community. He was the first Endeavor high-impact entrepreneur selected from Turkey and serves on the Endeavor Turkey Board. He actively mentors various startups. He is also a member of Galata Business Angels, Turkeys most elite and successful Angel Investment network.
